The methods for avoiding dangers involving Concrete are explained

We often notice a lot of accidents taking place leading to death and heavy losses as a result of Masonry violations. The department of occupational safety has made some suggestions in this regard. Let us examine a few of them.

Failure to protect the employees: When heavy construction involving Brickwork is going on, it has to be ensured that all the rebar is well capped or covered with a protective device designed and approved for this purpose. Hard plastic mushroom caps are suitable for such protection. Orange traffic cones, plastic cups or paper cups are not suitable for this type of protection. Similarly limiting the number of employees in potentially risky areas where heavy Masonrywork is going onby using a guard rail or some other protection measures is also a good preventive measure against the dangers that can be caused by rebar. Another method of protection from such dangers is to cover the rebar used in the Concrete with lumber like a 2x4 board.

Maintain a limited access zone: One can establish a special zone with limited access in the area where large Brickwork is going on. Only the workers needed for the construction are allowed to enter there. Any other person is not allowed to enter into this area with a view to reduce the calamites if any danger occurs in the work area. This will help others from being hit by a falling brick or being hurt in some similar situations where Concrete work is going on. This area can be separated by using a rope or chain or tape or other similar materials. The length of the zone has to be equal to the length of the Masonry wall to be constructed. The width of the zone has to be 4 feet more than the actual height of the wall going to be constructed. For example, if the Brickworkwall to be constructed is of 20 lengths and 8 feet height, then the zone will have a length of 20 feet same as the length of the wall. It will also have a width of 12 feet which is 4 plus 8 the height of the wall to be constructed.
