Lower back pain diagnosis

The herniation of the lumbar disc and the irritation of the sciatica nerve are some of the common causes of the lower back pain. There are several other causes which include the irritation of the smaller nerves which connect to the other back. The paired muscles at the back such as the erector spinae get affected. These muscles get irritated, leading to the lower back pain.
Damage could also occur to the ligaments and the bones at the back, leading to the problem. The degeneration of the intervertebral disc affects the lower back leading to intense pain.
When you suffer from the lower back pain, you need to seek medical treatment where the doctor will examine you and make a diagnosis.
Though the lower back pain may subside on its own after some time, there are some serious cases which should be treated as a matter of priority.
Chills and fever
The pain at the lower back could lead to fever and chills. At this point, the pain could be getting the better of you. When this happens, you should have the doctor make a better diagnosis so that medication could be administered for relief.
